Google renamed Google Container Engine (GKE)

Google decided to put K back in GKE. Google Container Engine (GKE) is now officially called Google Kubernetes Engine.

Renaming is announced from Google’s Cloud Platform blog by William Denniss, Product Manager of the Google Kubernetes Engine.

Kubernetes Engine Pricing

Kubernetes Engine charges a flat fee per hour per cluster for management, depending on the number of nodes in that cluster.

If you manage more than 5 nodes, then it’s considered a standard cluster and customers charged $0.15/hour, which equals to $109.50/month per cluster.
